WWE legend to return after lengthy absence to set up retirement match at SummerSlam? Analyzing the chances

SummerSlam 2024 is shaping up to be one of the biggest shows in WWE history. Fans expect many stars to return for storylines en route to the August PLE. Interestingly, one of the names who could return is Trish Stratus.

Trish Stratus made a shocking return to WWE in 2023 where she worked as a full-time superstar for months. She initially tagged with Lita and Becky Lynch before eventually betraying them and feuding with The Man. The Hall of Famer ended her return run in September when Lynch defeated her in a Steel Cage match. Stratus' protege Zoey Stark also attached her at the end of the bout. Although it seems like Zoey is set to be her next opponent, another star who could challenge Trish is Tiffany Stratton.

The SmackDown star has made a major name for herself since being drafted to the main roster, and her momentum on the Friday show continues to rise. She has already challenged Bayley for the Women's Championship and regularly feuds with former champions and top WWE Superstars. It wouldn't be surprising if she targets the Hall of Famer next to gain more recognition.

In the past, the former NXT Women's Champion has expressed her desire to face Trish as she considers the veteran a role model who has helped shape what women's wrestling is today.

Also, Tiffany vs Trish at SummerSlam could be the latter's way of officially retiring and passing the torch to Stratton. The SmackDown star has already proven that she is capable of being a major star in the company and a future champion, getting the approval from the Hall of Famer could only help her in the longer run.

What does Trish Stratus think about having a WWE match with Tiffany Stratton?

While the 25-year-old has a straight answer about whether she wants to face the Hall of Famer, the latter has to consider many more options about a possible bout between them.

When Booker T asked Trish about a dream match with Tiffany in a past episode of the Hall of Fame podcast, Stratus stated that she has to ensure the timing is right, consider fans' feelings, what it will do to the business, if she can perform well, and many other factors. However, she is open for anything.

"So who knows, I always leave everything open. And of course, the last box is 'will I be able to perform at my optimal level?' If I'm not, if I'm sh****er than I was before, I'm not coming."

It would be interesting if both women will ever have a chance to face each other in WWE soon.
