In a recent interview with Canadian outfit Niagra Front Publications, former WWE star Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts opened up about the passing of his mother and how he’s coming to terms with his grief reports allwrestlingnews.com.
Speaking about his loss, Roberts said: “Well, right now I am down. I just buried my mother. … That is an empty spot. I really feel lost, like, ‘Wait a minute, I can’t pick up the phone and call her.’ It still feels weird. It is a hole that has to be filled. I am so grateful that I was able to get sober and clean before she left, because I know she worried about me constantly, and hated the fact that I was going through what I went through. But she was always there for me, man. If I reached out, she was always there, you know?”
Roberts further spoke about his sobriety, stating that his mother was happy that he cleaned up, while also stating that going through the process of grieving without drinking would be hard.
However, Roberts did imply that he would not go down his former path again, and noted that he would mourn his mother’s passing without the help of a bottle.
