There can be no denying that WWE has one of the most talented rosters a wrestling promotion can hope to have. The WWE roster is one which is filled with diverse talent from all over the world and contains a wonderful mix of powerhouses, technical wrestlers and more.
There are many wrestling promotions who would love to have even half of the Superstars which the WWE has at its disposal, and this is something which highlights just how talented the current roster is.
The unfortunate thing is that the WWE has not always listened to their fans and have been very fixed on pushing the superstars who they feel should be the next face of the company, instead of focusing on those superstars who are really over with the fans.
This has been the case with Roman Reigns, who had the entire WWE Universe turn on him due to him being pushed so hard.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Reigns is currently out of action due to illness and it remains unclear as to exactly when he will make his return. Until that happens, the WWE do need to find someone to take his place as the face of the company and they need to do this fast.
Despite Brock Lesnar holding onto the Universal title, he remains a part time superstar and there is still a need for the WWE to groom their next breakout star who will lead the company into the future. The WWE are fortunate enough to have one of the most talented rosters at their disposal and finding a superstar to play this role should not prove to be too difficult.
This article will take a look at 5 WWE superstars who should be the face of the company in the absence of Roman Reigns, and who can continue to be so even when he does eventually return to action.
These superstars are over with the fans and have the talent as well as the charisma to lead the WWE into a new era. Given the recent steep decline in ratings, a fresh face of the company might be exactly what the WWE needs.
1.Finn Balor
Finn Balor is one of the most popular superstars in wrestling at the moment, and everyone knows that his run with the Universal title was short-lived due to his unfortunate injury.
Balor was the first WWE Universal Champion and it was clear that the company did have big plans for the Irish superstar when he was initially drafted to Raw. His untimely injury would see these plans fall away, but he still remains one of the most over superstars in the WWE locker room.
Balor has the talent and ability to step in the ring with the best and he needs to be given more of a run in the main event scene. The crowd reaction which he received when he won the Universal Championship, as well as the reaction which he continues to receive to this day show that he is a firm fan favorite, and if the WWE use him in the same way in which they have used Becky Lynch, the WWE Universe will be in for some exciting times.
2. Braun Strowman
Braun Strowman is another popular wrestler and is one of the biggest Superstars to make an impact in WWE, but one has to feel that he has been misused. The WWE don't seem to be keen on putting the belt on Strowman and there have been numerous reports backstage on why this is the case.
Whatever the reason for this may be, very few wrestling fans can deny that Strowman has the ability to lead the WWE into the future, especially in the absence of Roman Reigns. The crowds love him, and he has proven himself to be one of the most entertaining members of the WWE roster.
His aggression and his unique style are the key ingredients of what makes a popular superstar, and this is something which has been a bit lacking in the WWE over recent years. A run in the main event scene which would lead to Strowman becoming the face of the company is exactly what might be needed to give the WWE the excitement which it needs.
3. Samoa Joe
Samoa Joe is another big name in the wrestling industry. Joe's run in the WWE has been riddled with injuries over the past few months. This has seen Joe take somewhat of a back seat to other Superstars while he has been away.
His feud with AJ Styles however showed the entire WWE Universe just how menacing he can be, and what an intense superstar he can be.
At 39 years of age, Joe is unlikely to be hanging around for too long in a full-time capacity, and the WWE needs to start doing something meaningful with the brutal Samoan soon if he is to truly make an impact in the WWE during his run with the company.
One of Joe's biggest assets is his ability to speak on the mic and this is something which any face of the company needs to be good at doing. Reigns was not particularly a pro at this, especially compared to the likes of John Cena and The Rock, but this is one area which Joe really does excel.
4. Dean Ambrose
It may have taken longer than expected, but the anticipated Dean Ambrose heel turn finally happened a few weeks ago. This was one of the biggest moments in WWE this year, and if it has proven anything, it is that Dean Ambrose has the ability to become a huge solo star.
He often took the backseat to the likes of Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, and there was even concern that he would be the superstar to suffer the most when The Shield initially broke up almost 5 years ago.
This would prove to be untrue as his feud with Rollins remains as one of the greatest feuds in the WWE up to this day, and that feud saw him emerge as a crowd favorite.
Ambrose has not received much of a run in the main event scene despite his popularity. However, his heel turn and Roman Reigns' illness might just be his chance to prove his true worth to the company.
5. Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins is the final superstar on this list, and perhaps the one who is most likely to succeed Reigns as the face of the company. This is especially true when you consider the alliance which he had with Triple H when he turned his back on The Shield all those years ago.
Rollins has had a lot of time in the main event scene and is over with the crowd. He has tremendous in-ring ability and has even stepped into the ring with legends such as Sting. Very few people can deny that Rollins is one of the most charismatic superstars on the WWE roster at the moment.
Just like Samoa Joe, Rollins has incredible mic skills and this is a key element which any successful face of the company needs to have in order to truly make an impact. As an all-around package, Rollins does deliver a lot and is a sure bet to lead the company forward.
