Prime Time Players

The Prime Time Players

WWE Main Event was taped in Ottawa, Canada this week. The show saw three well contested match between highly talented mid-carders looking to make an impact in the roster.

With RAW and SmackDown concentrating more on the top stars, Main Event has proven to be a show just for the bottom feeders to exhibit their talent. Let us now look at a recap of what happened on Main Event this week:

Antonio Cesaro vs Kofi Kingston

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

When a wrestler loses even at a show like Main Event, you know that he is not going to make a very big impression in WWE for long. Cesaro, who is one of the better technical wrestlers in the roster today, has been on a losing streak for quite a while now. It has been ages since we’ve seen Cesaro win and Main Event added another day to it.

Kingston on the other hand has been enjoying a semi push at the moment that isn’t helping him reach any place in particular. Kingston has been hot after his return and has improve quite a lot in terms of technical ability inside the ring.

After a well contested match where Cesaro again displayed brute strength by spinning Kofi around, Kingston hit the SOS for the victory.

Winner: Kofi Kingston

The Prime Time Players vs 3MB (Heath Slater & Jinder Mahal)

It is quite clear that the Prime Time Players are the next big tag team stars in WWE after the Shield. Their recent push as gone well with the crowd who seem very supportive of their move to the top. Looks like they are going to be the next contender for the Tag Team titles at Night of Champions.

As for 3MB there isn’t much to say about them as they have been in their best phase as a jobber. Not too sure if they are happy about their present position, but let us hope 3MB come out of their pit and suddenly win one out of nowhere. That can make things interesting the next time 3MB are around.

Winner: Prime Time Players

Big E Langston vs R-Truth

Big E Langston after a decent run as AJ Lee‘s bodyguard suddenly vanished from the roster. He has been hardly used after his break with AJ Lee and watching him wrestle again was great. His ability inside the ring and the fact that he possess both speed and power together makes him a huge asset for WWE. Recent rumours about his face turn did have effect on WWE fans as they started cheering for him during the match.

R-Truth looks like he is a nobody in the roster at the moment. Despite winning against Damien Sandow and Drew McIntyre recently R-truth lost to Del Rio on RAW and now to Langston. Not sure where WWE is heading with him.

Big E hit the Big Ending on Truth to win the match.

Winner: Big E Langston
