The return of Roman Reigns on the SmackDown season premiere has shaken the entire landscape of WWE. Fans are now much more excited for the Bad Blood Premium Live Event, where Reigns will team up with Cody Rhodes against Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa.

Following Roman’s sensational return on SmackDown, Triple H has made a significant change to the status of The Original Tribal Chief.

Previously, Reigns was not listed as part of any specific brand on WWE's official website. Even during the latest WWE Draft, Paul Heyman revealed that The Original Tribal Chief had asked to be left out of the draft pool, resulting in him not being assigned to any brand and becoming a free agent. However, after the recent show, WWE has started promoting Roman Reigns as an exclusive Friday Night SmackDown superstar.

Now, on WWE's official site, Reigns is listed under the banner of the Blue Brand, and his profile features the new SmackDown logo, which was previously absent. This seemingly confirms that the former Undisputed WWE Champion is no longer a free agent and is now officially part of Friday Night SmackDown.

One major reason behind this move could be that SmackDown has recently moved to the USA Network, and Roman Reigns is undoubtedly a true needle mover. The Stamford-based promotion likely wants to keep Roman exclusively on SmackDown to boost viewership whenever he appears, ensuring the show continues to pull strong numbers.

Roman Reigns has already boosted numbers with his return to WWE

The return of Roman Reigns on the SmackDown season premiere was undoubtedly the highlight of the night. The Head of the Table received a monstrous pop from the WWE Universe. Beyond the excitement, Reigns' return has also proven to be a huge commercial success for World Wrestling Entertainment.

According to fans online, the return of The Original Tribal Chief generated over 55 million views across WWE's social media accounts in just 12 hours. On WWE's official Instagram account, the video of Roman Reigns' return garnered around 15 million views, which is an enormous number. Other videos of Reigns on WWE's Instagram have each accumulated at least five million views.

Additionally, the contract signing between Reigns and Rhodes has over eight million views on Instagram. This surge in views has also been reflected across WWE's other social media platforms.

This clearly demonstrates how the return of the former Undisputed WWE Champion was not only a monumental moment but also a highly profitable one for WWE. It will be interesting to see how the narrative of the Bloodline unfolds in the coming weeks as we head toward Bad Blood 2024.
