Seth Rollins made a surprise return to WWE on October 7th, 2024. He was out of action since August 5th, 2024, when Bronson Reed attacked him unprovoked with multiple Tsunamis. Now that he is back, The Visionary wants to get his hands on the 330-lb superstar, and Adam Pearce will need to make that match official.
Interestingly, Rollins vs. Reed isn't the only story in development for the former World Heavyweight Champion. WWE has confirmed a dark match between Dominik Mysterio and Seth Rollins for October 25th, 2024. This means that the company might be aiming to brew a feud between The Visionary and 'Dirty Dom' after he is done with Bronson Reed.
It so happens that the Stamford-based promotion uses dark matches to test feuds and observe the crowd's reaction to the bookings. If the reaction is high and the superstars are able to keep the audience engaged during the match, the creative team can move further with developing it into a TV feud.
Usually dark matches aren't advertised unless it is one that the company wants the fans to be intrigued about. With that being the case, it seems that WWE could be investing in a feud between Rollins and Mysterio.
WWE might confirm Seth Rollins vs. Bronson Reed for Crown Jewel 2024
The next premium live event for 2024 is Crown Jewel on November 2nd. Two matches have been confirmed for the event for the newly introduced Crown Jewel Championship. There are more slots left on the match card, and Seth Rollins vs. Bronson Reed could be one of them.
Both Reed and Rollins are ready to battle, and it makes sense to book such a hard-hitting match in front of an international crowd. The focus of Crown Jewel is usually to get more eyes on the product and make it as entertaining as possible rather than for the development of storylines.
It doesn't seem that Reed vs. Rollins has a future beyond Crown Jewel since it began rather abruptly. The Stamford-based promotion might end the feud at the premium live event and move both superstars to other storylines.
