WWE is set to kick off 2025 with a historic change. Starting with the January 6 episode, Monday Night RAW will officially move from the USA Network to Netflix.
This shift will likely bring some roster changes for both RAW and SmackDown, as WWE could aim to bolster the red brand for its Netflix debut. It now appears that the Stamford-based company may have subtly confirmed RAW’s biggest acquisition for the Netflix era, that being none other than Roman Reigns.
Roman Reigns is no longer featured on the SmackDown poster?
A WWE Hall of Famer isn't a John Cena fan. More details HERE
WWE has unveiled a new SmackDown poster for the Road to WrestleMania 41. Interestingly, Roman Reigns and Logan Paul have been removed from the updated graphic. They have been replaced by Solo Sikoa and Jade Cargill.
This change suggests that Reigns may soon be moving to Monday Night RAW for its Netflix debut in 2025. Reigns is currently involved in a main-event storyline with The Bloodline on SmackDown.
Netflix wants two other major stars for Monday Night RAW
Recent reports suggest that Netflix has named Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and CM Punk as the three major stars on the men's side they hope to feature on RAW in 2025.
Punk is already part of the Monday Night show. However, Rhodes currently holds the Undisputed WWE Championship and is the face of SmackDown. Hence, this would be a more challenging move to make.
Roman Reigns has previously talked about WWE's historic deal with Netflix
In an interview, Roman Reigns was asked about WWE's landmark deal with Netflix. The OTC called it the "biggest deal of all time" for the company.
He noted that the transition from traditional weekly episodic programming to a streaming platform like Netflix is unprecedented. Reigns said that this reflects the significant progress they have made in recent years.
"I think this is the biggest deal of all time to be honest. But the thing that changes the landscape for us, is that we've been on linear television for decades now, and we've been the leaders of that episodically, so to take our program and put it on a streaming network like Netflix, it's just unheard of. To go all the way back through our history, to see where we are now and the growth that we have, really since 2020 when the world was upside down, is amazing. So it's a big opportunity for us to not only showcase our product but just what we've mastered with live television," said Reigns.
It will be interesting to see what the Stamford-based company has planned for the historic debut of RAW on Netflix.
