UndertakerWWE will have one last chance to hype SummerSlam at Monday Night. The show will be nothing less that crucial for everyone involved and WWE, from the rumors, is going to make it a memorable one. Just like SummerSlam, Undertaker and Brock Lesnar will be the main attraction this week on Raw. Apart from these two, there is a midcard waiting to be pushed and hopefully, WWE will take a look into the same instead of just concentrating on the big ones. The WWE Championship scene also deserves some television time this week around. With that said, here is a look at the possible menu that WWE would serve on the latest edition of their weekly flagship show.
#5 Last push for the midcard
The undercard of SummerSlam looks exciting. There is a lot of potential in the matches that WWE has lined up and hopefully, they will deliver as well. The three team divas elimination match will be a major talking point at the show and we could expect another brawl between the girls on Monday Night. Elsewhere, the Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro saga has been received well by the fans.
Ryback’s return has boosted the Intercontinental championship scenario as well and it requires a final push on Raw. Random matches could be expected for the Tag Team Division as well but all eyes would be on the Stephen Amell situation. He has been training for the match at SummerSlam, and the way in which the feud gets booked on Monday Night will be crucial.
#4 The fate of Randy Orton and Sheamus
Last week, Randy Orton and Sheamus looked like they were going to challenge Seth Rollins for the Championship at SummerSlam. There were possibilities of a one on one match between Rollins and Orton or a triple threat match between Orton, Sheamus and Rollins. However, now that WWE has booked Rollins vs. Cena for the show on Sunday, the fate of Sheamus and Orton hangs in the balance.
Orton, in particular is in some big trouble at the moment. Sheamus is suffering from certain health issues and might miss SummerSlam. This would leave Orton without a proper feud which is not a good thing. A singles match between the two is a possibility or they could just be added to the WWE championship match as well.
#3 Ziggler to make a surprise Return?
Lana recently said that Dolph Ziggler will only return after SummerSlam. Ziggler is currently away due to film commitments and was expected to be back in time for the pay-per-view. However, Lana has come out and said so. This has confused the fans a bit but it could turn out to be a swerve from WWE’s side. They could just let Ziggler make a surprise return on Raw and add more hype to whatever match he is set for at SummerSlam.
It would be a foolish move to keep Ziggler away from the pay-per-view. The Summer Rae – Lana feud is heating up but at the same time, these two girls cannot put on a full-fledged match. They are going to require the support of Ziggler and Rusev and for that, Ziggler needs to make a return.
#2 Will Cena Show up?
After toying with us a bit, WWE finally booked the Seth Rollins vs John Cena match for SummerSlam last week. Cena is yet to show up on Raw after the nasty nose injury that he picked up and WWE has no buildup whatsoever for the match apart from that. Rollins being projected as a threat to Cena is a great thing but then again, the lack of interaction between these two superstars is going to hurt the match.
WWE could solve the problem this week on Raw if they let Cena show up. A confrontation between Cena and Rollins is a must and if that does not happen, then fans would have a tough time getting involved in the match despite the titles on the line.
#1 Undertaker and Lesnar under the same roof
The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar match is WWE’s biggest money maker at SummerSlam. The rematch between these two has managed to capture the imagination of WWE fans and everyone will be eager to see how it would turn out. These two superstars will be under the same roof on Monday Night and we are expected to see some fireworks.
WWE did a great job with the all-out brawl a few weeks back and something similar this time around would seal the deal. It would also be interesting to see who gets the upper hand on Raw since it might have direct implications on who will win at SummerSlam as well.
