The road to WrestleMania will see another major stop at CONSOL Energy Center, Pittsburgh when WWE will be bringing their latest edition of Monday Night Raw. With the build to WrestleMania not looking pretty for Vince McMahon, he will be eager to break the forgettable run and produce some answers for the burning questions. From Wiz Khalifa’s guest appearance to the WrestleMania main event between Lesnar and Reigns, there is a truckload of work to be done by the creative team. Here is a look at what all we could expect from the weekly flagship show of WWE.
#6 The United States Triangle
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
The United States Championship got a lot of spotlight at Fast Lane when John Cena competed for the gold. Things got even interesting at the moment with the inclusion of Curtis Axel.
Axel under the new gimmick of AxelMania is producing some entertaining segments for the fans and he has brightened up the stale angle between Rusev and Cena. From the looks of it, WWE might go with a three way dance for the title at Mania but since they have a tendency of making Cena look good at every corner, Axel might be dropped.
It would be a disastrous decision from a creative point of view and hopefully things would be clear once this week’s Raw hits the air.
#5 The crazy chick is back
The brightest point of last week’s Raw was arguably the return of AJ Lee. She comes into a struggling divas division and all of a sudden breathes some life into it. With AJ back in the frame, WWE now has multiple options to their WrestleMania buildup.
First of all, they could go with a triple threat between Paige, AJ and Nikki for the title. Else, they could have a tag team match with AJ and Paige on one side and the Bellas on the other. A fatal four way is also in the picture. The best one from the lot however would be a match between AJ and Paige provided that either of the two divas win the title from Nikki before the granddaddy of them all.
#3 Wiz Khalifa in town
WWE has rich history of celebrity appearances but they have a richer history of botched celebrity appearances. This week, singer Wiz Khalifa is scheduled to appear on Raw and it might easily fall into either of the category.
With the association that the rapper has with John Cena, we might see Cena getting dragged into the whole appearance. Or it could even end up being a comedy toilet break with superstars like Hornswoggle or Santino Marella. Either way, WWE should make the best out of this mainstream exposure as it would be good for them in the road to WrestleMania.
#2 Will Undertaker break his silence?
Seeing Bray Wyatt go up against Undertaker is a mouthwatering prospect, period. Both are character driven superstars and a platform like WrestleMania is sure to bring out the best in both of them. However, despite the potential that this feud holds, the absence of Undertaker is haunting the entire angle.
Bray has been carrying it in his shoulders till now and he did it perfectly. But if the company doesn’t want this to end up like a one man show, they should let Undertaker make an appearance at the earliest. Expecting him to be there at Raw is a long shot, but Undertaker’s presence is what the feud needs now.
#1 Building up the main event
WWE has a big money main event in the form of Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reings at WrestleMania. On one corner we have Reigns, who is touted as the new face of WWE and a Samoan Superman while on the other side we have the one behind twenty one and one, Brock Lesnar.
It is a sure shot money puller but the problem now is Lesnar’s limited appearances. Despite having a bankable match at their disposal, the company is yet to build up some tension between Lesnar and Reigns. That needs to be changed this time around and WWE should quit the technique of using Paul Heyman to hide the void.
