#1 Possible spoiler on Roman Reigns vs. Edge at WWE Money in the Bank 2021
WWE legend Edge made his return on SmackDown a few weeks ago, attacking Universal Champion Roman Reigns. He made his title ambitions pretty clear and will get his shot at the WWE Universal Championship at Money in the Bank.
Edge had already got a shot at the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 37 but it wasn’t the one-on-one match he was looking for, with Daniel Bryan also in the match as a third competitor.
As revealed by Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Roman Reigns is set to defend the WWE Universal Championship in a handicap match against Rey and Dominik Mysterio soon after Money in the Bank, which means that he is definitely leaving the pay-per-view still Universal Champion:
“7/24 in Pittsburgh is listing Reigns vs. Rey & Dominik Mysterio in a handicap match with the title at stake which means Reigns has to win and putting the title up in a handicap match is stupid to begin with, as it just makes the babyfaces look like they are losers to start out with,” stated Dave Meltzer.
