Following up a pay-per-view like Elimination Chamber is not going to be a cakewalk for WWE. Almost all of their booking decisions were spot on last time around. The magic should be repeated at Money in the Bank as well.
The creative team has a solid card and a great concept at their disposal for the same. Despite this, at the end of the day, it will be the shock value that matters. Twists and turns are one of the major expectations of every pay-per-view. And Money in the Bank will be no different. Certain angles could get the job was done and here is a look at them.
Rusev costs Ziggler the Briefcase
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Even though Rusev is not in the Money in the Bank match, he will be a big factor. The angle that he has with Ziggler is one of the subplots. As seen on Raw, it will have a major impact on Ziggler’s run on Sunday night. Lana will probably be ringside for the match. This is sure to bring out The Bulgarian Brute as well.
Rusev might not be able to wrestle at the point of time. But WWE has all the ammunition to build a match between the two for SummerSlam. The first step in that would be for Rusev to interfere and cost Ziggler the match. It will be guaranteed heat for Rusev if he does that.
Dudley Boys Appear
The rumor mill and the internet have been buzzing relentlessly about the Dudley boys. Speculation suggests that Dudleys will be feuding with the Wyatt Family soon. The veteran tag team also teased this on their Twitter account as well. The way in which WWE is building up the Wyatt family suggests the same.
If they wanted the Wyatts to be in the title picture, it would have already happened. Instead, WWE is saving them for something bigger. This could be a feud with Dudley Boys. If this is indeed the case, then this surprise return could happen at Money in the Bank. The Tag team division will have a big boost. At the same time, the fans will be happy.
Another win for Owens
John Cena and Kevin Owens will go at it once again on Sunday. Owens won the first encounter fair, but it would be a long shot to expect the same at Money in the Bank. Someone getting two clean wins against John Cena is next to impossible. This is why, a Kevin Owens win would end up being a twist.
If WWE is so high on the NXT champion, then we might get to see this. If not, there are two options. WWE could give a cheap win for Owens. Or they could let Cena get his revenge. The former will be preferable than the latter. Interference from Samoa Joe is also on the possibility list.
Neville surprises everyone
Roman Reigns is the hands down favorite to win the Money in the Bank briefcase. Everyone has given up on the same and sees no other winner. This opens the door for WWE to pull off their biggest swerve: Letting Neville win.
Neville has been protected to this point, so it would be credible if he walked away with the briefcase. Along with this, Neville will be injected into the main event scene, where he deserves to be. It will spare the heat on Reigns as well since Neville is a fan favorite. And most importantly, at the end of the day, the fans will have no grounds to complain about a botched ending.
Roman Reigns turns on Dean Ambrose
Two things must happen for this twist. First of all, Roman Reigns should win the Money in the Bank match. Secondly, Dean Ambrose should defeat Seth Rollins. Once Ambrose starts celebrating, Reigns should come down and cash in the contract. It will give instant heat for the Samoan Superstar.
His face run is not working out as WWE planned so the best option would be this. Reigns winning the title will make matters more interesting in the main event. We will have all three members of the shield in the title picture. The way in which authority treats Roman Reigns will be another aspect to watch out. In the end, this promises to be an excellent angle on the long run.
