He returns to Smackdown Live on July 4^th but could a surprise appearance take place before then?

The WWE Championship match is subject to as much scrutiny as it is excitement. There has been a mix of opinions about Jinder Mahal's championship reign. While some were pleased with Mahal's championship win over Randy Orton at Backlash, others questioned how long it will last.

However, something could change in the WWE title picture that would certainly get the attention of the WWE Universe. While it has been announced that John Cena will return to Smackdown Live on Tuesday, July 4th that doesn't mean that he won't appear earlier in some way, shape or form.

We are of the belief that Mahal will validate his reign by once again defeating Randy Orton for the championship. To add to that, he could win clean, and it would truly cement his position as champion to retain against the 13-time champion.

After the match ends, Cena could appear on the jumbotron applauding Mahal's win. Such an appearance would, of course, lead to a combination of both cheers and jeers, and doubtless, some would perceive it as the franchise taking away from the champion's moment.
