#1 Kofi Kingston vs. Kevin Owens (WWE Championship)

With Big E sidelined due to an injury, Kevin Owens became an honorary member of The New Day last week when he teamed with Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods to defeat Cesaro, Rusev & Shinsuke Nakamura on SmackDown Live.

This week, Owens (going by the name “Big O”) was at ringside with Woods to support Kingston in his match against Nakamura. When Rusev interfered, Kingston’s allies began to help before Owens betrayed the WWE champion by hitting him with a superkick.

In classic KO style, he suckered everybody in, just like he did with previous allies Sami Zayn and Chris Jericho, and let his frustrations out when he realised that the WWE Championship is a lot more important to him than friendship.

This rivalry will inevitably lead to a match between the two men at Money In The Bank. The question is whether WWE will decide to give Kingston a lengthy run with the WWE title or whether Owens can build enough heel momentum before MITB to be considered a serious enough threat.
