WWE did it.
After weeks and weeks of the fans ripping them for what they saw as lacklustre booking and ill-conceived storylines, WWE came back in a big way by delivering at Money in The Bank.
Beyond that, they reinvigorated both rosters in the process and kept fans enthralled from beginning to end.
While WWE certainly did its part, it was the Superstars themselves that truly made this a night to remember.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Not only was that evident by the Styles versus Rollins dream match, the Women's Money in The Bank ladder match and Becky Lynch working two bouts in a row, but also by what the rest of the card had to offer as well.
With that being said, here are the five superstars that had the best performances at Money in The Bank. As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below and be sure to tell us who you believe stood out during Sunday's pay per view event.
#5 Kofi Kingston
Kofi Kingston might have won The WWE title at WrestleMania 35 and defeated Daniel Bryan to accomplish that feat, but there was a lot of doubt as to how long the dream run would last.
The doubts became stronger, when Kevin Owens stepped up as his first pay per view challenger for the title, which left Kingston with a target on his back.
With that being said, however, Kofi Kingston ventured out to the ring alone Sunday night at MITB and took care of business against a very determined Kevin Owens. Beyond that, his high flying offense really helped him fight off a late attack by Owens to retain his title.
Whether Kingston's dream continues or not remains to be seen and will depend on what WWE has next for the title picture, but one has to imagine that they are confident with Kingston as champion going forward.
#4 Becky Lynch
Becky Lynch might have lost the second match of the night, but she did so after going through absolute hell against Lacey Evans and taking Charlotte Flair to the limit right after that.
If nothing else, this more then proves that Lynch will be a centerpiece of The WWE for months and maybe even years to come.
Whether that means she'll continue to hold onto the RAW Women's title or not remains to be seen and will depend on what WWE deems best for business, but it would be hard to see anyone else defeating Lynch this early into her run.
There is also still a lot of mileage in Becky Lynch's run as The Man, which could also lead to a long run.
In the end, Lynch probably did bite off more than she could chew, but she will be viewed as no less for it. In fact, fans now view her as the true iron woman that she is and will continue to sing her praises long after she finally loses Raw Women's title.
#3 AJ Styles
Another top performance from Sunday night's MITB pay per view was AJ Styles, who came up short against Seth Rollins, but put on a clinic in the process.
In fact, between catching Rollins out of mid-air and hitting The Styles clash to locking in the calf crusher and almost making The Kingslayer tap out, Styles looked great.
Again, he came up short to Rollins when all was said and done, but his resilience throughout the entirety of the match virtually ensures that he loses nothing by being pinned here. Furthermore, with Brock Lesnar becoming the surprise winner of the Men's Money In The Bank ladder match, losing might be the better position to be in right now.
In the end, Styles' high flying offense was a sight to behold and really helped make this match a work of art.
It also left fans jaw dropped at times, which is something that is really going to help imprint this match in the minds of fans.
#2 Seth Rollins
What a freaking dream match!
Seth Rollins and AJ Styles took each other to the absolute limit throughout the course of their Universal title match at Money in The bank, but from the moment the Beastslayer hit those two suicide dives to the outside, all the way to his brutal curb stop that finally put The Phenomenal One away, Rollins' performance shined through!
It even lived up to the lofty heights of the dream match moniker that it was given going into the b pay per view and might have won the match of the year in the process.
In the end, Styles versus Rollins might be in the books and Rollins might still be champion, but what fans saw on Sunday from Styles will no doubt go down as one of the best performances of the night and could even me a contender for Match Of The Year.
#1 Bayley
From grabbing The Women's MITB in dramatic fashion, to actually cashing in on Charlotte Flair and winning The Smackdown Live Women's title, it's no secret that Bayley was the star performer of the night. Beyond that, she finally elevated herself back to where she was just a few short years ago.
With that being said, maybe the underdog like nature of this storyline is what made it so refreshing to watch from the viewpoint of The WWE Universe.
It also seems to have real-life implications, especially with Sasha Banks not present on television, which could serve to make things even more interesting.
In the end, the sky is the limit for Bayley on SmackDown Live and while she will most certainly be the subject of an onslaught from the queen, she could keep the title for quite a while.
In fact, with WWE still trying to build stars like Mandy Rose and Naomi on Smackdown Live, Bayley is the perfect champion.
