#1. The first time Edge has challenged for a WWE World Championship in a singles match in more than a decade
Edge challenged Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship on Sunday night as part of WWE's Money in the Bank pay-per-view. This will not only be Edge's first singles shot at the Universal Championship, but also his first singles match for a World Championship in WWE for more than a decade.
Of course, this fact looks much more daunting than it is because Edge retired from WWE back in 2011, when it was revealed that he was struggling with cervical spinal stenosis. The Rated R Superstar returned as part of last year's Royal Rumble before stepping into a feud with Randy Orton. The feud ended following Edge's injury at last year's Backlash before the former 11-time WWE Champion returned at this year's Royal Rumble.
Following his victory, Edge was denied a one-on-one match for the Championship at WrestleMania when Daniel Bryan was added to the match, meaning that Money in the Bank is his first shot.
This is the first time Edge has challenged for a Championship in WWE in a singles match since he faced off against Dolph Ziggler on SmackDown's 600th episode in February 2011.
