We’re done with the Money in the Bank PPV, and there were some great matches, along with some eventful returns. In this article, I pick the top five performers from the Money in the Bank PPV and rate them as well.
5. Rob Van Dam
At number 5 is the returning Rob Van Dam. The Philly crowd exploded when RVD’s music hit, and gave him a loud reception. Many people thought RVD could win the Money in the Bank ladder match for the WWE title, as it was Philadelphia and RVD did put in an impressive performance, and didn’t look like he missed a beat in the ring. RVD also delivered an impressive rolling thunder on the ladder, along with a huge splash from the top of the ladder onto Christian.Known as an innovator, and he showed just why he was included in the ladder match. Although he did not win the briefcase, there is no doubt that RVD still has a lot of gas left in the tank.

Ziggler put in yet another excellent performance in his match against Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight championship. He came ever so close to winning the World Heavyweight championship, but AJ Lee came down and destroyed Ziggler’s plans, as she caused a disqualification after she decked ADR with the Divas title. With Ziggler losing his match, he might get into a feud with Big E and AJ through the summer. It was yet another good day at the office for ‘the Showoff’, and he was undoubtedly one of the top 5 stars of the show.

3. Randy Orton
In what came as one of the biggest shocks of the night, as Randy Orton climbed up the ladder to retrieve the Money in the Bank briefcase to guarantee him a shot at the WWE title. Orton was going nowhere in the WWE, and this can only be a good thing. With rumors of Orton turning heel floating around for more than a year, this can be the perfect opportunity for WWE to turn Orton. Orton needs a change in his character, as he has become monotonous and boring for the past couple of years. In the end, Orton showed his potential after a really long time on Sunday.

2. Daniel Bryan
For the first time in months, Daniel Bryan isn’t the ‘Superstar of the night’, but he was a close second. Bryan is on a roll , and going into the Money in the Bank PPV, he was the odds on favourite to win the briefcase for the WWE title. Although that didn’t happen, Bryan showed his class and the Philly crowd absolutely loved him for it. There was a moment when Bryan and Punk came face to face, and the crowd erupted as these two started in the independent circuit out of Philly. The crowd was firmly behind Bryan with the ‘Yes’ chants, and one hopes that WWE doesn’t kill off his momentum by putting him in an irrelevant feud.

1. Cody Rhodes
And our pick for the superstar of the night is none other than ‘The Dashing One’, Cody Rhodes. Cody is one of the most talented superstars in the WWE, but had been under – utilized him till now. He showed his class at the PPV and created an excellent chance for himself to win the briefcase, but was double crossed by his best friend and partner, Damien Sandow. Cody almost grabbed the briefcase before Sandow threw him off the ladder and unhooked the briefcase to win the bout, to earn a chance to face the World Champion for the title within the next year.
