In a slightly odd turn of events, WWE.com recently broke the news that AJ Styles has been chosen to replace Bray Wyatt at on Sunday night as it seems that the former WWE Champion will not be able to recover from viral meningitis in time to face The Demon at TLC.
Bray and his brother Bo Dallas have been missing from Monday Night Raw for the past two weeks and it was only recently revealed that the duo was suffering from this illness.
Bray Wyatt's alter ego "Sister Abigail" was set to take on "The Demon" who is the alter ego of Finn Balor in their third meeting at consecutive pay-per-views this weekend, but it seems that WWE has had to restructure the show on the eleventh hour since Bray couldn't recover in time.
It's a shock that the company has decided to draft in AJ Styles from SmackDown Live rather than bring in another member of the Raw roster, but it shows just how sparse their rosters are right now, considering there was no replacement who was at that kind of level.
TLC already had three women's matches and three Cruiserweight segments as part of the show, with all of the main Raw superstars being used in the main event match. Bray's match with Finn was the only other match on the card, so it will be interesting to see how a match between two face superstars will work with no storyline and little time to plan ahead.
AJ Styles has never faced Finn Balor on WWE TV, so it seems that the WWE Universe has been granted a fantasy match despite the circumstances surrounding the change.
