What's the story?
The WWE Universe suffered an awful scare a few days ago when it was revealed that AJ Styles might have been injured while wrestling at a Live Event in Madison Square Garden. Now, it looks like the fans can breathe a sigh of relief as Styles is back in action once again, as reported by NoDQ.
In case you didn’t know…
While performing in a tag match with Shinsuke Nakamura against the team of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn at a live event on 16th March at MSG, it looked like Styles sustained an injury to his leg. Fans in attendance reported that they saw the referee hold up the dreaded X sign, signaling a legitimate injury.

However, later reports that surfaced revealed that the WWE had worked the angle to possibly showcase an older injury that Styles had sustained. Two days ago, we had reported (H/T: PWInsider) that Styles will be back to the ring at Live Events.
The heart of the matter
At the house show in Trenton, NJ, The Phenomenal One was involved in an 8-man tag team match, teaming up with the New Day to take on Rusev Day, Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable. Styles picked up the victory for his team after hitting Aiden English with a Phenomenal Forearm.
However, it has been reported that the WWE Champion spent most of the match on the apron, and only wrestled in the closing minutes of the match. This is clearly an indication that WWE is being cautious, giving AJ time to rehab from his injury, and get back to a 100% in time for WrestleMania on April 8th.
It looks like The New Day and Styles had some fun with the crowd, with a dance to celebrate their victory.
What's next?
AJ Styles will take on the winner of the Royal Rumble 2018, Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Championship at the 'grandest stage of them all', in two weeks' time.
Post WrestleMania, it has been rumoured that Styles could move over to Monday Night Raw.
Author's take
For a while, there was a real scare among the fans when they thought an injury would put a damper on the dream match between Styles and Nakamura at WrestleMania. But now, it looks like all is well and that Styles will be ready to defend his title at New Orleans.
