- TNA World Champion Bully Ray spoke to The Daily Star last week in regards to the chances of Jim Ross working for TNA. Ray couldn’t say for sure, but did say that he would, “…Love to see Jim Ross in TNA. I think TNA could benefit hugely from Jim. He’s a straight shooter. A man’s man. On a personal level, when Devon and I signed for WWE, we negotiated with Jim and he was the man who we signed the contracts with. He’s just a top quality person.” For those hoping this comes true, don’t hold your breath. Even with being fired a couple of times, JR has not worked for another wrestling company outside of WWF/E since 1993, and does not currently have any intentions of doing so since retiring.
- Despite initial reports, CM Punk is doing okay following the nasty bump he took on RAW last night, courtesy of Ryback. For those that didn’t watch, Ryback threw Punk through a table, but miscalculated the distance and launched Punk too far, with Punk barely catching the table on the way down and landing hard on the stage. However, Punk is currently dealing with legitimate injuries, as his knee, elbow and ankle have been nagging him for some time. Following the incident, Punk and Ryback reportedly nearly came to blows backstage before Curtis Axel intervened and helped calm both men down. Ryback was also pulled aside by WWE officials and placed blame squarely on Punk, basically saying that he screwed up and should’ve known how to take the bump better. Most WWE staff who were in attendance do not see it that way, however, instead seeing it as Ryback being careless and not paying attention. It is unknown if Ryback will suffer any kind of punishment at this point in time.
- Jim Ross recently appeared on Steve Austin’s podcast to discuss retirement. He basically states that he has other things planned after WWE and is not going to just, “sit on the porch and watch the world go by.” Although he will no longer be involved with WWE, he does go onto say that he would still like to call the Undertaker’s final match, if at all possible.
- The new WWE documentary on current COO Paul “Triple H” Levesque, Thy Kingdom Come, was released on both DVD and Blu-Ray today.
- Last night’s RAW averaged just over 3.7 million viewers, down from last week’s 4 million. Likely, the marginal drop is a result of Monday Night Football, as RAW ratings always take a hit during NFL season.
