What's the story?
Speaking to Ring The Belle, WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix opened up on a myriad of topics.
Most prominently, Phoenix weighed in on her husband and fellow WWE Hall of Famer Edge's highly-personal feud with Becky Lynch on Twitter.
Besides, "The Glamazon" also chimed in with her two cents, on the upcoming RAW Women's Title match between reigning champion Becky Lynch and number-1 contender Natalya at SummerSlam.
In case you didn't know...
Beth Phoenix is hailed by many as one of the greatest performers in the history of the WWE Women's Division.
Phoenix, as well as her real-life husband Adam Copeland aka Edge, are WWE Hall of Famers, and to this date, closely follow the promotion. Beth Phoenix also commentates at WWE NXT shows.
The heart of the matter
One ought to note that Edge and Becky Lynch had engaged in a series of less-than-kind Twitter exchanges with each other this year, with the latter taking a shot at the injury which ended Edge's career -- prompting many to think that their argument may be a "shoot" i.e., legitimate, and not something that both of them are in on.
Nevertheless, it was eventually revealed that Edge and Lynch were simply 'working' the pro wrestling community and that their banter was simply a friendly back-and-forth... Reiterating the same, Beth Phoenix addressed the Edge vs. Lynch Twitter rivalry and stated --
"What the heck? Becky Lynch has a mouth on her; which I appreciate...However, I don't think she understood that, she bit off more than she can chew when she came after my husband, Edge."
"Becky and Adam went at it for quite a bit. I had to shut it down at one point and went --'Let's just do this match guys.'" (*H/T Sportskeeda for the transcription)
Furthermore, as regards her close friend and former tag team partner Natalya facing Lynch for the latter's title at SummerSlam; Phoenix explained that she's incredibly excited for SummerSlam, as her best friend faces someone who she believes has changed the business.
What's next?
WWE RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch will defend her title against Natalya at SummerSlam which is set to transpire at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on August 11th.
