SmackDown hosted its exclusive Tables, Ladders, and Chairs (TLC) event, on December 5th, 2016. During the pre-show, an interesting conversation took place, between WWE Hall of Famer, Booker T and wrestler turned General Manager, Daniel Bryan.
Booker T and Bryan were analysing the No Disqualification match between Nikki Bella and Carmella and the Hall of Famer started off by stating that both Superstars have something to prove.
He called Nikki the biggest fish in the lake and added that Carmella is vying to grab the proverbial big Bass and mount it on her wall. He further went on to contemplate on Nikki’s recent injury struggles, and how she has to prove a point regarding her physical capabilities (h/t The Inquisitr).

Nikki is gonna have to go out there and prove she still got what it takes. Coming off a neck injury, that kind of injury norm…
He then looked towards Daniel Bryan for a reaction and went on to say:
He’s sitting right here with us. Normally an injury like that would put you on the shelf. She’s got to prove that she’s 100 percent and ready, battle-tested, and see if she can go out there and hack it.
Booker’s off-beat statements about Nikki Bella’s injury struggles, seemed to leave Bryan baffled.
After realising that he touched a sensitive subject, Booker asked Bryan if he was okay, to which the founder of the Yes Moment replied that he was. Renee Young, who witnessed the awkward conversation first hand, further checked on Bryan and asked him, if he was alright. To which Bryan replied;
I thought he was asking me if my neck was okay. I’m like, yeah, I’m doing great! I just did Jiu Jitsu last week. I’m good!
Earlier this year, Bryan was forced into retirement, after suffering a series of concussions. WWE has been adamant about keeping the 34-year-old, away from the ring, but Bryan has often mentioned his desire to return to the squared circle.
While Booker T’s comments were not directed at Bryan, it did remind him of his own struggles and how he was missing out on the thing he loved the most – Wrestling!
