What’s the story?
On the heels of his backstage attack of Roman Reigns on Monday Night Raw, Braun Strowman has made his first public comments regarding the incident. Taking to Twitter shortly after the attack, which saw Strowman tip over an ambulance carrying the injured former WWE champion, Strowman had this to say:
In case you didn’t know...
Strowman and Reigns had been involved in a mini-feud of sorts in the weeks leading up to Reigns’ match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33. Reigns defeated Strowman in a match at Fastlane but still had to contend with attacks and confrontations with the former Wyatt Family member in the weeks after.
The heart of the matter
It doesn’t look like the Big Dog will be out of action for too long, as it appears the two are set to meet in a match at the upcoming Payback PPV on April 30th. According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter Radio, the match looks to be some sort of gimmick match – possibly a stretcher or ambulance match.
The stipulation not only makes sense from a storyline standpoint but could give WWE the chance to get Strowman a big win without making Reigns look weak in the process.
What’s next?
Roman Reigns will take on Braun Strowman in the Raw-exclusive PPV Payback.
Author’s opinion
I don’t know if a beating as savage as the one Strowman put on him can get Roman Reigns sympathy from a fanbase dead set on hating him, but they sure gave it their best shot. I’m not really big on stretcher/ambulance matches, but if the match is as intense as that segment on Monday was, it should be very entertaining.
