What's the story?

Brian Kendrick, formerly known as The Brian Kendrick, finally made his return to WWE 205 Live this week when he teamed with his partner Jack Gallager to pick up a win against a bunch of jobbers in tag team action.

In case you didn't know...

Kendrick has been out of action since December 2017, after he suffered a broken orbital bone at the hands of Hideo Itami when Itami put Kendrick through the infamous GTS.

It was due to this injury that Kendrick was unable to participate in the recent cruiserweight tournament held on 205 live to determine the new Cruiserweight Champion after the belt was vacated due to Enzo Amore being stripped of the Championship.

Before being injured, Kendrick was involved in a tag team with Jack Gallagher, which looks to be reformed with his return, even though it looked like Jack would be given a singles push given his recent singles matches on 205 live.

The heart of the matter

Brian Kendrick is currently amidst his third run with the company where he was signed in 2016, after his praiseworthy performance in the Cruiserweight Classic.

Kendrick is a former Tag Team Champion as well as a former Cruiserweight Champion, so it is great to see him back finally.

What's next?

There have been rumours floating around that WWE might be introducing the Cruiserweight Tag Team Championships, so there is a high possibility of Kendrick and Gallagher going after those belts.

Author's take

The 205 live roster is the best it has ever been and the return of one of the veterans comes as great news for the brand.

Not only is Brian a veteran but is also one of the best heels on the purple brand and it will be interesting to see how the WWE decide to use him going forward.
