What’s the story?
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Brock Lesnar might actually be on the losing end of his WWE Universal Title match at WrestleMania 33 against Goldberg.
The primary reason behind this is that the WWE’s creative department is afraid that the result of the match has become entirely too predictable and it would be a major swerve if they didn’t give Lesnar the victory on The Grandest Stage of Them All.

In case you didn’t know...
Brock Lesnar and Goldberg have been involved in a feud since Survivor Series back in 2016 which marked the latter’s return to the WWE after more than a decade away from the wrestling business.
The former WCW Champion squashed The Beast Incarnate in less than two minutes and even proceeded to eliminate him from the 2017 Royal Rumble match. The decisive match for their feud was set up for WrestleMania 33 after Goldberg won the WWE Universal Title from Kevin Owens at WWE Fastlane.
The former UFC Heavyweight Champion was expected to win this final encounter between the two men at The Show of Shows and start his reign as the Universal Champion much to the chagrin of the fans who do not want to see the belt in the hands of a part-timer.
The heart of the matter
The WWE might very well be making a last minute change to avoid an overly predictable main event, and something that lends more credit to this theory is the fact that Goldberg is reportedly open to a longer run in the company after WrestleMania 33.

It might be a questionable decision, but it is certainly possible that the WWE decides to give Lesnar his run with The Universal Championship much later in the year. There are also reports indicating that next year’s WrestleMania will be headlined by Lesnar and Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship.
If that is indeed the case, it makes sense to give The Beast Incarnate a lengthy title run in the build up to WrestleMania 34.
What next?
With WrestleMania 33 just a few days away, it is almost time for Vince McMahon and his creative department to finalise their decisions on how to book the card. Vince has been notorious for changing plans because they were too predictable so it might very well be possible in this case as well.
There is nothing more for us to do than wait it out and see how the main event goes.
Author’s take
I, for one, certainly hope Lesnar comes away with the victory. I’m not the biggest fan of putting the top Raw title on The Beast, but he’s the better option when compared to Old Man Bill Goldberg who can’t seem to wrestle more than a few minutes.
