What's the story?
Following Brock Lesnar not appearing on Monday Night RAW despite being advertised, there was some concern over his scheduled WWE Live show appearance in Chicago on Saturday. However, Paul Heyman has confirmed that 'The Beast Incarnate' will be wrestling at the show.
In case you didn't know...
Paul Heyman announced that Lesnar would be going face-to-face with the Elimination Chamber winner on the post-PPV Raw but instead we got a fantastic Roman Reigns promo saying that Lesnar wasn't there.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
What followed was the eternal WWE debate, was this a shoot or a work? Did Lesnar walk out because he was unhappy with his contract negotiations, did WWE send Lesnar home because of that Dana White picture tweet, or did WWE make last-minute creative decisions to make Lesnar come across more heelish and Reigns look good?
(Spoilers: It was a work. Heyman would have been there if it wasn't, Heyman wouldn't be tweeting about it, and WWE.com wouldn't be running articles saying 'Where is Brock Lesnar?' if he legitimately walked out)
The heart of the matter
WWE.com picked up Paul Heyman's confirmation that Lesnar will be at Chicago for the live house show, labelling it as Heyman addressing Brock Lesnar's future. Just in case there was any more doubt that this entire thing is part of the storyline.
The advertised plan for Brock Lesnar at the Chicago house show on 3 March is for him to compete in a WWE Title match against 'The Big Red Monster' Kane, in what is sure to be a great match for the live crowd.
What's next?
Brock Lesnar is set to take on Roman Reigns at WrestleMania for the Universal Title in a rematch of their first clash that was interrupted by Seth Rollins cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase, so this would be a conclusion to their first bout and evidence of some really great long-term planning by the WWE.
Author's take
If the storyline between Lesnar and Reigns continues like this with more superb promos from Roman, we could all be in for quite the spectacle at WrestleMania.
