WWE announced today on Twitter that Mexico City will turn into Suplex City when Brock Lesnar takes on Rusev, in the capital of the country.
It was initially rumoured that Lesnar would face Sami Zayn, but it looks like WWE decided to go with a heel for Lesnar to crush. At this point, Lesnar has transcended the face-heel dynamic, which was what made his feud with The Undertaker so interesting; as even though The Undertaker was acting as a heel, the lines were very blurry in the feud.
This is going to be the second time that The Beast Incarnate and The Bulgarian Brute have squared off. The first time they did was on February 6th of this year in a San Jose, California house show. The match was a quick one, lasting all but 3 minutes, containing multiple suplexes.

Towards the end of last year and early this year, The Beast Incarnate did a handful of house shows which saw him face former League Of Nations members Alberto Del Rio, Rusev, and Sheamus. Before we see Lesnar vs. Rusev 2, we will be seeing the main event of Survivor Series – Lesnar vs. Goldberg 2, a rematch 12 and a half years in the making.
While both Lesnar and Goldberg will not appear on next week’s episode of Raw, both are advertised for the November 14th edition of Raw. This also happens to be the go-home show for Survivor Series.
After Survivor Series, we likely won’t be seeing Lesnar again until Royal Rumble, where he is rumoured to be involved in the Universal Championship match. However, before he sets his sights on the main gold of Raw, he needs to focus on Goldberg.
Here is his match from late last year with Alberto Del Rio:
