What's the story?
Cesaro might not have experienced the amount of success that both he and some fans would have liked, but he has been a key piece of any show he has been on.
He recently spoke with The Citizen's Voice to help promote SmackDown in Hartford tonight. Wrestlingnews.com carried a transcript of the interview.
In case you didn't know...
Cesaro has held tag team gold on both Raw and SmackDown. While he and Sheamus lost the SmackDown Tag Team titles to The Miz and Shane McMahon, he still supports the blue brand.

Anything is possible in the coming year for the Swiss Superman, as the Superstar Shake Up could split him from Sheamus.
The heart of the matter
Since Cesaro has had runs on both Raw and SmackDown, he has a feel for how each show presents itself both now and in the future. He explained why he felt SmackDown was more exciting than his previous home of Raw:
“For us, it’s the same. We want to be on top of both shows. We were a cornerstone of Raw, we are a cornerstone of SmackDown. We are the best team, that’s what we want to prove. That’s always our goal. SmackDown has a lot of potential. SmackDown, I feel, has more excitement than Raw even though Raw is always branded as the flagship show. But I think there’s a lot of excitement on SmackDown, there’s more focus on the wrestling aspect. With the new TV deal kicking in in November, I have high hopes for SmackDown.”
Cesaro has always been among the more technically solid superstars on the roster, and feels that the way SmackDown presents it's product is better than the supposed flagship show that Raw has always been treated as.
SmackDown's move to Fox in November of this year will only further go on to support Cesaro's hope for the brand. Fox executives have stated that they want more focus on the athletic aspect of Pro Wrestling, rather than the soap opera-like storylines.
What's next?
If SmackDown is looking to have some superstars who are better with the athletic aspect rather than the character work, then Cesaro is certainly someone who signifies that.
Total package Superstars like AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan also would be perfect for Fox's SmackDown, as would superstars like Finn Balor, Asuka and Aleister Black.
A lot of moves will likely be made in the Superstar Shake Up following WrestleMania in order to line up with Fox's desires. Hopefully Cesaro will get to stay where he feels more comfortable.
