What's the story?
CFO$ have taken to Twitter to deny rumours of leaving the WWE. The group posted on their official account, "Rumor going around that we're no longer working with WWE...FAKE NEWS!"
In case you didn't know...
CFO$, a group which contains two music producers, John Alicastro and Mike Lauri, has been the creative force behind WWE themes for the past four years.
During their time in WWE, they have created masterpieces like the entrance theme for Shinsuke Nakamura (The Rising Sun) and Bobby Roode (Glorious Domination), which has topped multiple charts on iTunes.
The heart of the matter
Despite the success during their time in WWE, there have been multiple rumours linking them to an exit from the company. Entrance themes are undoubtedly a major part of the story a wrestler tells in the ring and goes a long way in ultimately deciding how they're received among the wrestling faithful.
CFO$ in the past have proved their mettle as producers, and their experience is integral to what WWE present as a product. Their understanding of the business makes them invaluable to the company, and understandably they have decided to stay despite rumours of their exit.
What's next?
As the duo eluded to in a recent interview with Metal injection, they would be working on a number of new projects, "Typically there are at least a few projects going on at one time. There’s also always a chance that something will pop up at the last minute for live TV and we’ll have to drop everything we’re doing to get it done in time, but we’ve come to work really well under that pressure. Sometimes, an imminent deadline actually makes it more fun to be honest".
Author's Take
Clearly, common sense prevailed, and we still have the CFO$ as part of the WWE. In a completely unrelated note, listen to their work on Aleister Black's theme (especially if you like heavy music).
