The heart of the matter
Chris Jericho lost his United States Championship to Kevin Owens, in the main event of the episode, just days after winning it back on Payback. The now two-time US Champion assaulted Chris Jericho after the match, thus writing him off TV for the next couple of months.

Since 2010, Jericho has been focusing on his band, which initially he tended to as a side-project. From 2011 to 2013, Jericho continued to appear sporadically on WWE TV.
In 2014, Jericho came back from a year-long hiatus and began feuding with The Wyatt Family. In January of 2015, Jericho revealed via Twitter, that he'd signed an exclusive contract with the WWE, which allowed him to work house shows exclusively.
In 2016, Jericho returned as a full-time wrestler and began his feud with AJ Styles. Later the same year, Jericho feuded with Dean Ambrose and then formed a tag team with Kevin Owens, thus creating The List of Jericho and the scarf gimmick.
On the January 9th episode of RAW, Jericho defeated Roman Reigns with Owens’ help to win the United States Championship. On April 3 at WrestleMania, Jericho lost the US title to Kevin Owens and then won it back later on April 30th at Payback.
What's next?
As reported earlier, Fozzy will commence the 'Judas Rising Tour' from the 5th of May. Fozzy released their first single titled Judas via Loudwire on April 27th.
Author's take
Although Jericho will be greatly missed by the WWE Universe, we hope that his hiatus is temporary and that we get to see him back on WWE TV eventually.
