In case you didn’t know…

Mixed Martial Arts veteran and former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey made her much-awaited WWE debut back in January during the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, where she was involved in an altercation with Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss, SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, and the winner of the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble match, Asuka.

The heart of the matter

In a recent appearance on Chael Sonnen’s Beyond The Fight podcast, former nine-time WWE Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho opened up about his thoughts on the forthcoming WrestleMania 34 debut of Ronda Rousey and stated that it was a smart play on WWE’s part to book Rousey in a tag team match with Kurt Angle and Triple H, who can do all the heavy lifting during the contest, with Rousey coming in at some point and executing a few big spots on Stephanie McMahon.

“Here’s your Brock vs. Roman, here’s your Angle & Ronda vs. Triple H & Stephanie. They can put together the match any way they want. All they have to do is just put it together so she has one or two spots that really pop and mean something. The rest is all dog and pony show, show business. A) She’s an athlete, B) She’s a wrestling fan, and C) she wants to do this. She’s going to be fine.”

What’s next?

We’re just three weeks away from WrestleMania 34, which takes place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on the 8th of April and as noted, the WWE Universe will also get to witness the much-awaited Pro Wrestling debut of Ronda Rousey.

Author’s Take

Ronda Rousey, in my opinion, will do just fine in the squared circle and with the likes of Kurt Angle and Triple H by her side, she has very few reasons to worry about her first performance in a wrestling ring.
