The heart of the matter

While speaking with Inquisitr, Jericho touched upon a variety of topics. The discussion soon turned towards the current state of wrestling. AEW has managed to create a buzz among the fans, even before producing a single show.

The Grandest Stage Of Them All, WrestleMania 35, was a huge success. Additionally, there are promotions like ROH and Impact with their fair share of niche fans. When asked about whether wrestling had ever been this strong, Jericho had some interesting things to say.

He stated that although WWE used to attract around 10 million viewers during the Attitude Era, it still doesn't hold a candle to what we have today.

Well, I mean, absolutely. Going back to the Monday Night Wars and 9 million people on a weekly basis, it may not be that way right now from a TV standpoint. But with so many options out there, and so much talent — from an in-person live event and buzz standpoint — it really is.

What's next?

All Elite Wrestling's first show, "Double Or Nothing", is all set to emanate from the MGM Grand on May 25th. Jericho will be a part of the event and this might be the dawning of a new era in professional wrestling.
