What's the story?
Curt Hawkins has not had the best of times in recent months and was looking to finally snap his impressive but embarrassing losing streak which stood at 139.
Hawkins was part of a mammoth 6-man tag as he teamed up with Dash Wilder and Curtis Axel to take on Heath Slater, Rhyno and Apollo Crews at a WWE house show at Salt Lake City, Utah.
Unfortunately, Hawkins could not get the W and his losing streak continued.

In case you didn't know...
The streak has become somewhat of a joke in the WWE as many might remember some rather impressive streaks such as Goldberg’s consecutive win run in the WCW which stood at 173 (which was disputed by many) and the losing streak by Hawkins also seems a bit inflated, even though the WWE is promoting it a lot.
The heart of the matter
While the WWE might be pushing Asuka as the current champion of the undefeated streak, Hawkins has also been getting a lot of attention of late and has been receiving a pummelling in recent weeks.
The match against the trio of Slater, Rhyno and Crews might not have been a 3-on-1 but still, the loss was highlighted by Hawkins himself as he tweeted his record being a rather incredible 0-140.
What's next?
Hawkins isn’t the worst wrestler in the WWE but they seem to have caught hold onto a storyline and will try to push it as much as possible.
The losing streak might continue in next week’s RAW episode but Hawkins has not been seen on all the TV shows in recent weeks so we might have to wait for another house show or Live event.
Author's take
This seems to be another tale similar to that of James Ellsworth, where the ‘Chinless Wonder’ was pushed by the WWE even though he didn’t really add much to the ring, especially during his time with Carmella.
At least Ellsworth had a role to play in the Women’s championship run and the first ever Money in the Bank match for the female wrestlers but I can’t understand what the WWE is trying to achieve with Hawkins.
No one would keep track of a losing record and the number of consecutive losses does seem a bit high. If Hawkins ever defeats someone it might be a huge superstar or even a fluke win with some interference, and that might would be great for him, otherwise, the number could become 300 before the end of 2018.
