What’s the story?
WWE Cruiserweight star Drew Gulak posted an amusing tweet alongside WWE Champion Randy Orton. Gulak, who also competed in the Cruiserweight Classic back in the summer, has been treading water on both Monday Night Raw and 205 Live for months now.
In case you didn’t know...
Over the weekend, Randy Orton caused quite the stir on social media, ripping into independent wrestlers and more specifically Bubba Ray Dudley. The Viper then issued a fake apology of sorts over Twitter, with led to a number of responses from Superstars both past and present on the indie scene.

The heart of the matter
Gulak posed next to a “No Fly Zone” sign alongside Randy Orton. This is in reference to the comments Orton made about high flying superstars during his rant, and it also fits quite nicely into Drew’s current gimmick. This is the first significant interaction between the two and given their current alignments; it seems as if it’ll be their last for a while.

What’s next?
Gulak will continue to try and make a name for himself in the cruiserweight division; meanwhile, Orton is preparing to defend his WWE Championship against Jinder Mahal this Sunday at Backlash. In terms of the reaction to Randy’s Twitter outburst, it seems likely that we haven’t heard the end of it with indie wrestlers around the world continuing to comment.
Author’s take
While we didn’t necessarily agree with Randy’s comments, it’s great to see him take a humorous approach to this. Also, it does wonders for Gulak even to be stood next to a legend like Randy. Hopefully, we can see more interactions like this in the weeks and months to come, as opposed to having the cruiserweights be shoved into one corner.
