What's the story?
Two Scottish heavyweight look like colliding if a recent Twitter interaction is anything to go by - with Ayr's WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre laying down a challenge to Andy Murray after the Dunblane-born tennis supreme spoke about wrestling with his brother as a child.
In case you didn't know…
Andy Murray, or Sir Andrew Barron Murray to give him his full title, is a former world number one in his respective sport of tennis and, after a hip injury looked to force the two-time Olympic Champion into retirement, has made a triumphant return to the sport.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Murray is from Dunblane, Scotland - the same country as a certain WWE Superstar who has taken the world by storm in Drew McIntyre, who hails from Ayr. While McIntyre's never really been sidelined via injury, their stories of resurgence may not seem to far away, with McIntyre being hotly tipped as the next big thing in WWE before his release forced McIntyre to work his way back to the company where he now seems stood in greater stead than ever to take on the world.
The heart of the matter
On Amazon Prime Video Sport, Andy Murray opened up about wrestling with his brother Jamie as a kid, speaking about how they'd be diving off of their bunk beds and doing flying elbows and leg drops onto each other, trying to win the Heavyweight or Intercontinental belt they'd made.
One man who has decided to respond to this, though, is another Scottish athlete in Drew McIntyre - who says he did the same thing, before laying down a challenge to Andy Murray so he can show the tennis star it's a whole different game.
What's next?
Will Andy Murray take up Drew McIntyre's offer? Only time will tell.
