What's the story?
We recently reported that WWE had parted ways with the female Aussie superstar, Emma. The RAW Superstar recently went on social media and indicated that the 'best is yet to come'.
We suppose that she means that she's not done with the wrestling business. This is the Tweet she posted.
In case you didn't know...
Even though Darren Young and Summer Rae also got released by WWE this week, Emma's name stood out from the lot.
From competing for the first ever NXT Women's Championship to her alliance with Dana Brooke in NXT to her ill-fated Emmalina gimmick and to her eventual release; her WWE career has been a roller coaster ride in many ways.
People were surprised to see her go, considering that she had a great match against Asuka at TLC, and another one on RAW, the night after. In many ways she was the complete package, with a great look and incredible in-ring skills, to boot.
The heart of the matter
Ever since Emma sent out the Tweet, the outpouring of support for her was massive. The crux of the matter is that Emma was not bitter, but seemed thankful to her friends, fans and family for her incredible journey.
What sent Twitter into a tizzy is the fact that she indicated that she was not done with the world of sports entertainment, even though her association with WWE had come to an end. Having worked in the independents before, we are definitely not surprised.
What's next?
There are many independent promotions that would love to work with this talented and gorgeous Aussie lass. Stay by the phone, Emma. Many calls should be coming your way.
Author's take
Is Emma a future Knockouts Champion? I certainly do hope that she is. She could really elevate the division and bring new eyeballs to the Impact Women's roster.
