On a recent edition of Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, Eric Bischoff addressed the possibility of RAW being a two-hour show rather than today’s three-hour show.

Bischoff worked alongside the liked of creative experts such as Dusty Rhodes, Hulk Hogan and Vince Russo in WCW, and has later worked for his rival Vince McMahon in WWE.
The heart of the matter
Eric Bischoff explained that no matter how much you like a TV show, anything in excess turns off the audience. He cited that if you are to watch (popular television show) Game of Thrones for three hours every week for 52 weeks a year, you’d most definitely find yourself tuning out, irrespective of your love for it.
Furthermore, Bischoff elucidated on WWE bringing back WCW events such as Starrcade and War Games stating that the WWE indeed owns the intellectual property rights to WCW and both aforementioned events were conceptualized by the late-Dusty Rhodes.
He alluded that younger or newer pro-wrestling fans unaware of WCW, shall enjoy the WCW-style events. Besides, Easy E revealed who he’d pick as the cornerstone to a new wrestling organization: “I really like Braun Strowman (but) I would turn the volume down on him just a little bit—I think he is a little bit overly animated, and he doesn't have to be. He is already a larger than life character when he wakes up and has a cup of coffee (and) to me, they have the dial turned on him just a little too much, but it has hard to deny that he can be the guy.
"People chuckle when I say this because they don't think I'm serious, but I really dig Dolph Ziggler; he is versatile, he's athletic, he has a great look, and he reminds me of Kurt Angle because, although he doesn't have that bada** killer persona that Kurt had, but he is capable of it because he is an amazing amateur wrestler. He can choose to be a badass, or he can be a comedic character."
What’s next?
Eric Bischoff returned to the WWE as an ambassador last year and inducted Diamond Dallas Page into the WWE Hall of Fame earlier this year.
Author’s take
Eric Bischoff went toe-to-toe with Vince McMahon’s WWE during the Monday Night ratings wars, and was widely viewed as an eccentric, highly aggressive person at the time.
Age seems to have mellowed him down and he is indeed spot-on as regards his analysis of Braun Strowman and Dolph Ziggler being capable of captaining a new pro-wrestling promotion from the ground up.
