Eva Marie can now be called ‘All Suspended Everything’
Natalie Marie Coyle, better known as WWE Superstar Eva Marie has been suspended for violation of the WWE Wellness Policy. The suspension will last 30 days since this is her first offence and it has now been confirmed that the WWE SummerSlam card will be missing Eva Marie. She was scheduled to appear on Sunday (August 21st) in the SummerSlam match between Carmella, Becky Lynch & Naomi vs. Natalya, Alexa Bliss & herself but on the match listing, it now reads that Eva will be “out of action for 30 days” and has left the match “in a state of uncertainty”.

It is unclear, however, if someone will take her place at the SummerSlam match or if Natalya and Alexa Bliss will fight Carmella, Becky Lynch & Naomi in a handicap match. Meanwhile, Eva’s husband Jonathan Coyle tweeted out his thoughts on the suspension saying that it was “unjust” and that when the public finds out, they’ll be “absolutely outraged”.
It seems that there are tough times going on in the WWE universe with the recent series of suspensions due to violations of the WWE Wellness policy. Roman Reigns caught flak from WWE management last month and only yesterday, both Paige and Alberto Del Rio were suspended for the same issues. The policies are meant to protect WWE’s biggest assets, the athletes themselves and they seem to have grown stricter with drug abuse issues, be it for recreational purposes, performance enhancement or even prescribed medication abuse. In the past, all the way back in the WWF days, both recreational drug use and performance enhancement drugs like steroids were common among the wrestlers but down the line, we have lost some very beloved Superstars to the devil that is drug abuse.
In recent months, WWE had been pushing Eva Marie in spite of the fact that many fans and critics do not think that she is fit for the WWE roster because of her lack of technical wrestling expertise. In the age of the Women’s Championship, wrestlers like Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Bailey and Becky Lynch who are all very technically sound and promote exceptional athleticism among the female Superstars whereas, according to some fans, Eva is there as a reminder of the WWE Diva days where the women were there to only look good.
