WWE News: Fans enraged after Goldberg squashes Lesnar in 85 seconds

Goldberg invades Suplex City

It would be an understatement to call Survivor Series a success. Not only did it provide fantastic matches and great spots, but it also set us up for the upcoming episodes of RAW and SmackDown.

Despite all the positives we derived from Survivor Series, the bout between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar, dubbed as the mega-match of the year, did leave a blemish on the otherwise well-executed PPV.

The match in itself lasted for a meagre 1 minute 25 seconds and was culminated after two consecutive Spears followed by a Jackhammer, as it was apparently all that was required to slay the Beast Incarnate.

The result left the WWE Universe bewildered, and many fans took on Twitter to express their utter displeasure with the outcome of the match. Amidst all the commotion that took over Twitter, fans were left questioning the logic behind the result of the match.

The WWE Universe could not digest the fact that Lesnar got squashed by a 49-year-old, despite establishing absolute authority on the roster for the past two years. This has not only hampered the credibility of The Beast Incarnate but also slew the reputation of the victims he steamrolled in the past.

While WWE has left us with a series of unanswered questions, Goldberg’s fitness, struggles and wrestling abilities, might have played a huge part in the bout ending in bizarre circumstances.

Despite all the criticism that was directed toward the WWE creative team, there were also fans, who were left awe-struck by the outcome of the match.
