Finn Balor has not made an appearance in the WWE since the night after SummerSlam. He dislocated his shoulder during his match for the inaugural WWE Universal Championship with Rollins at the PPV and although Balor went on to win the match and become the first WWE Universal Champion; his reign was short-lived as he had to relinquish his title 24 hours later due to his injury.

Balor spoke to Sam Roberts on his podcast and detailed the extent of his current rehab regimen, stating that he does six-hour sessions. He revealed that he has a rehab session for three hours in the morning followed by another session in the afternoon that lasts another three.

The Demon King informed Roberts that his situation was currently improving but he would not make it in time for the upcoming RAW pay per view Roadblock: End of the Line in Pittsburg, PA on 18 December. Balor also ruled out an appearance at the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX for the Royal Rumble.

Balor, however, was optimistic about his chances of making it back to Monday Night RAW in time for WrestleMania 33. There are no plans for Balor’s WrestleMania debut as of yet, but it seems possible that he would go after the WWE Universal Championship, given the fact that he never lost the title in the first place.

The WWE Universe was heartbroken when WWE.com had announced, earlier this year, that Balor would have to relinquish his title just 24 hours after he had won it. Watch Balor’s injury at SummerSlam:

The NXT Champion was in the middle of a big push when he succumbed to the injury. He had just been promoted to the main roster and beaten Roman Reigns on his first night on RAW to contest for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam.

Balor is also the longest reigning NXT champion in history, with a title run that lasted for 292 days. He lost the NXT Championship to Samoa Joe at a non-televised live event in Lowell, Massachusetts.
