What do John Cena, Finn Balor and Kevin Owens have in common other than wrestling accolades matching a Five-Star General’s breast? They love dropping breadcrumbs, which often don't lead anywhere.
Twitter’s their preferred tool of deception and the latest to be connected by this common thread is Jack Swagger. The former United States Champion sent the WWE Universe into a frenzy by tweeting this:
This isn’t the first time Swagger and ‘retirement’ have been mentioned in the same vein; earlier this year, the coals were stoked when it was reported that two longtime WWE Superstars would part ways with the company. Wade Barrett and Jack Swagger were the wrestlers in question.
The tweet would prove a hoax when Swagger’s wife, Catalina put an end to the conjecture by tweeting that her husband was referring to the fact that it was the last day of the WWE’s tour of Europe. She may have decided to take a leaf out of Swagger’s book by deleting the tweet and keeping the game alive.
Swagger has been rudderless in the main roster for a while, despite being a former ECW Champion, Heavyweight Champion and United States Champion.
