What's the story?

During tonight's WWE Fastlane, we witnessed a heel turn that had been speculated and building up for the last few months.

In case you didn't know...

Following their championship loss at Elimination Chamber. The Miz apologized for letting Shane McMahon and his own family down for the loss. The Miz wanted one more shot at The Usos and a rematch for the Tag Team Titles, in order to make his father, his family and also his tag team partner Shane McMahon proud. The newly crowned Tag Team Champions The Usos accepted the challenge.

Shane McMahon and The Miz challenged The Usos in a rematch for the SmackDown Live Tag Team Titles

The heart of the matter

At the conclusion of the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championship match, Shane McMahon turned heel after consoling The Miz and his father at ringside.

During the match, The Miz got a little overzealous, as he went to the top turnbuckle and dove off in a Frog Splash attempt on Jimmy Uso, but Jimmy got the knees up and rolled up The Miz into a small package to get the pinfall victory.

Once the match was over, after we were going to have a seemingly heartfelt, feel-good moment between father & son, this happened...

What's next?

The Miz is likely to respond to Shane McMahon's heinous actions this Tuesday night on SmackDown Live. We are likely to see Shane McMahon and The Miz square off in a match, perhaps a No DQ or a No Holds Barred match, at WrestleMania 35. Keep in mind, the latter is pure speculation and not confirmed by any means.
