WWE News: Former WCW World Champion believes that WWE should bring back Hulk Hogan

What’s the story?

In a recent interview with TMZ, former WCW World Heavyweight Champion and WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page suggested that WWE legend Hulk Hogan should make his return to the company after being away for almost two years. You can check out DDP's interview below:

In case you didn’t know…

In 2015, WWE decided to terminate Hulk Hogan of his contract after and released him from the company shortly before a tape containing him making racist remarks were made public, although Hogan’s lawyer had claimed that The Hulkster was not fired and he had instead decided to resign from the company.

Following Hogan’s departure, WWE had also removed all of Hulk Hogan’s references from their official website including his listing as a judge for WWE’s reality TV series Tough Enough, his merchandise from WWE Shop, and his entry from its WWE Hall of Fame.

The heart of the matter

During DDP’s interaction with TMZ, the WWE Hall of Famer claimed that according to him, WWE needs to bring back Hulk Hogan at some point in the near future. DDP also stated that he hopes to see The Hulkster back in WWE because he is still a big fan of the former leader of the New World Order. Page also claimed that during his time with WCW, it was Hulk Hogan who had initially helped him to get up the ranks as a top guy of the company. Page continued saying that Hogan kept his faith and belief in DDP and also supported the 61-year-old when he first won the WCW World Championship back in 1999.

“He was really one of the guys who was instrumental in helping me get up to that spot as the top guy. Because he believed in me, and when I won the World Title that night of the match he was in there: me, Flair, Sting, and Hogan."- DDP stated.

Hogan had a big influence on DDP's career

Additionally, Page also regarded Hulk Hogan as a good man and said that he hopes to God that The Hulkster makes his return to the WWE.

What’s next?

As of right now, it looks like a return for Hulk Hogan isn’t happening anytime soon as earlier in the month, WWE released a statement that read: "At this time, WWE remains committed to its decision." However, WWE COO, Triple H has claimed in the past that WWE is open to a Hulk Hogan return.

Hulk Hogan has certainly supported many top superstars such as DDP in order to get to the top of the mountain in the wrestling business and I believe that WWE will eventually reconsider their decision and we will witness the return of The Hulkster very soon.
