WWE legend Bret Hart has battled a series of health-related issues through his career. We're glad to report that at this juncture, however, he is 100% cured of prostate cancer according to a report on BloomsMag.

Bret's own brother, Smith Hart, was not nearly as lucky. Hart urged everyone above the age of 40 to get a checkup done, in the article linked.

In case you didn't know...

At the peak of his career, an accidental kick from Goldberg at Starrcade 99 ended Bret Hart's legendary run in sports entertainment. Last year, Bret Hart went on social media to announce that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

While his surgery was successful, Hart had to be monitored every few months to gauge whether he was completely cancer free or not. We're glad to report that he has now beaten cancer for good.

The heart of the matter

While Bret Hart may have recovered from prostate cancer, he urges all his fans and well-wishers to get themselves checked up regularly:

You gotta go in and get a blood test. If you’re a man over 40, you need to go in. You don’t want to be like my brother, Smith, who’s a guy that didn’t worry about it and it’s too late now.

Unfortunately, Smith Hart only has a year to live, right now. As for Bret Hart, he said that he's pretty close to normal, at the moment.

What's next?

Bret Hart has long retired from the wrestling business. We hope that he leads a long, happy and healthy life. He deserves that much for entertaining us for so so many years.

Author's take

The Hitman was a huge part of my childhood, so it's been hard to see him undergo all his health problems. They've plagued him all through his life, and therefore, all I hope is that he finds peace now.
