Few years back, WWE had a storyline involving an Anonymous General Manager who used to issue orders vie e-mails. After a while, it was revealed that it was none other than Hornswoggle, who had hid under the ring and sent those e-mails. It is surprising that Hornswoggle was employed by the WWE for ten years and only recently fired after flouting the Wellness Policy multiple times.
WWE Creative writer Kevin Eck has now revealed the thought process and the failed ideas behind the Anonymous GM storyline. Eck said that he wanted Kevin Nash to be the RAW GM. He added that Kevin Nash was with TNA at that time and thus the storyline could have played out perfectly when it was revealed that it was indeed Nash who was the Anonymous GM.
WWE has planned to introduce Nash back with his Wizard OZ gimmick from one of the production trucks. Then the idea of Hornswoggle was considered where the storyline would show that he became the GM for being Vince McMahon kayfabe son which was altogether a different cringeworthy storyline.
Hornswoggle was set to be the heel RAW GM after being revealed, an idea which was approved by Mr.McMahon. This somehow did not come to fruition as he could not fit the role well. Eck revealed that the idea was so bad that Vince McMahon had apologized to Jerry Lawler for putting out such a horrendous concept and involving him in it.
