What’s the story?
Gail Kim has taken to social media so as to address speculation surrounding her rumored appearance in the WWE Women’s Royal Rumble Match.
Kim confirmed that she will be in Dallas for a Royal Rumble viewing party, besides also revealing which former female talent she’d like to see partake as surprise entrants in the Royal Rumble.
In case you didn’t know…
Gail Kim performed for the WWE from 2002-04 and 2008-11.
Kim also competed extensively for Impact Wrestling and is a TNA/Impact Wrestling Hall of Famer.
The heart of the matter
In August of 2011, Gail Kim participated in Battle Royal to determine the number-1 contender for the Divas Championship, however, Kim infamously eliminated herself from the matchup. She subsequently parted ways with the WWE and voiced her displeasure about the female talent not being accorded enough opportunities in the promotion.
Nevertheless, several professional wrestling fans and experts alike have been speculating as to whether the WWE could bring back Kim for the historic event, in response to which Kim asserted that she won’t be in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match, but will indeed be in Dallas, Texas for a live Royal Rumble viewing party.
Furthermore, Kim explained that she’ll be cheering on the awesome women in the matchup, and hoping for a few female performers from her generation to partake in the matchup as surprise entrants. Kim alluded that she’s still unhappy about her last run in the WWE, and hated the generic music accorded to her during her second stint with WWE; however, she does love her previous theme ‘Puppets on a String’.
Besides, Kim emphasized that she’s hoping to see legends such as Lita, Trish Stratus, Jazz, Victoria, Ivory and Jacqueline Moore back in the ring.
What’s next?
Gail Kim presently serves as a producer and agent for Impact Wrestling. She retired from in-ring pro-wrestling competition last year.
Author’s take
Gail Kim has nothing left to prove in the professional wrestling business, however, for an event of such historical significance, it’d be great to see her return to the WWE.
Kim is a rare talent and perhaps we could see her put aside her differences with WWE and return to the promotion someday. Would you like to see Kim in the WWE? Sound off in the comments!
