WWE News: Hulk Hogan and Brutus Beefcake war continues

What’s the story?

As reported by John Corrigan of The Wrestling Estate, the legal dispute between Hulk Hogan and Brutus Beefcake is still very much alive and kicking.

Brutus Beefcake’s co-author Kenny Casanova spoke to The Wrestling Estate; asserting that the dispute between Hogan and Beefcake is legitimate and not part of any pro-wrestling storyline.

In case you didn’t know…

Hulk Hogan and Brutus ‘The Barber’ Beefcake were two of the WWE’s top Superstars back in the 1980s, with Hogan helping the sport of professional wrestling breakthrough into the mainstream.

Hogan and Beefcake have been close friends over the course of their careers, however, as noted by Kenny Casanova, the duo grew distant over the past few years.

In late-2017, Brutus Beefcake revealed that he’s writing a tell-all book with Kenny Casanova as the co-author, chronicling Beefcake’s life and experiences in the professional wrestling business. However, ever since news of the book broke, Hulk Hogan and his legal team have been involved in a dispute with Beefcake over certain intimate details regarding Hogan potentially being exposed in the book.

The heart of the matter

Kenny Casanova opened up on the ongoing Hulk Hogan-Brutus Beefcake dispute; stating—

“Man, I was on the phone with Hogan’s lawyer for hours. I’m telling you, it was not a work, (and) if it was, then Hogan and Beefcake worked me as the writer and Hogan’s own lawyer. I’ve gotta tell ya, that’s not the case. They sent warnings about making sure the book was clean and free of error, and no added ‘fill-in-the-blanks’ that weren’t correct. When Beefcake said, ‘Brother, I’m going to put this book out soon and it’s a tell all,’ Hogan got perhaps worried.”

Furthermore, Casanova noted that Hogan and Beefcake were considerably popular with female fans back in the day, and could’ve potentially been involved in certain cases of infidelity—something which Hogan is fearful of being exposed.

Casanova added that the main point Hogan seems to be concerned about is an argument between Beefcake’s wife and the Hulkster. However, Casanova alluded that the part has only been covered in the latter part of the book, and is pure speculation on his part.

What’s next?

Hulk Hogan and Brutus Beefcake are presently involved in a legal dispute over the latter’s new tell-all book.

Pro-wrestling and legal experts believe that Hogan is likely to either legally ensure that Beefcake’s stories about the former in the book are taken down, or refute the stories altogether.

It’d be safe to say that Hulk Hogan and Brutus Beefcake seem to be going through a tough phase in their friendship.

Regardless, perhaps Hogan is afraid of his personal life being propelled into full public view once again, as he experienced during the infamous, long-running Gawker tape trial. Here’s hoping Hogan and Beefcake’s issues are resolved immediately.
