The Wrestling fraternity loses yet another legend after IWA and NWA legend Mario Milano passed away at the age of 81.
Milano started off his wrestling career in Venezuela, after which he moved on to compete in the United States and Australia. He accomplished several milestones in his impressive career, which included capturing the prestigious IWA World Heavyweight Championship 4 times during his career.
Milano’s series of title runs began when he was crowned the NWA Southern Tag Team Championship along with Jackie Fargo, on 5 November 1963. Milano further cemented his legacy as a tag team wrestler after winning the coveted NWA World Tag Team Championship. He further went along to team up with Len Rossi to win the NWA Southern Tag Team Championship six times. Overall, he has won the titles nine times in total.
