WWE News: Jack Gallagher to debut new ring gear on 205 Live tonight

Jack Gallagher against Cedric Alexander on a 205 Live episode

What's the story?

With more eyes than ever on 205 Live and WWE's cruiserweight division - thanks to a new general manager and a tournament to crown a new cruiserweight champion - it makes sense that a lot of the talent on the show are looking to grab some of that attention. It appears that Gentleman Jack Gallagher intends to do that tonight during his first round tournament match against Mustafa Ali.

In case you didn't know...

Gallagher debuted for the WWE during their 2016 Cruiserweight Classic tournament - winning his first round match against Fabian Aichner, but eventually being eliminated by Akira Tozawa afterwards. Following the tournament, he began working for WWE proper when he appeared on the debut episode of 205 Live months later. He even made a surprise appearance during the 2017 Royal Rumble, although - spoiler alert - he didn't win.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

Jnack's already gone through one change of ring gear during his stint with WWE - after turning heel this past September, he switched from traditional-style wrestling trunks to wearing an actual suit in the ring, Irwin R. Schyster-style. Now, he's set to debut yet another ring costume.

The heart of the matter

Earlier today, Gallagher posted the following on his Twitter account:

"New look" seems to indicate new ring gear - and possibly a new gimmick?

What's next?

Whatever Gallagher has planned for tonight, we'll all find out what it is right before his Cruiserweight Championship tournament match tonight.

Author's take

I like Jack Gallagher a lot. I haven't kept up with 205 Live as much as I would like lately, but I'm always happy to see the "Extraordinary Gentleman" getting a part of the spotlight. I was enjoying his new heel alliance with The Brian Kendrick - but, clearly, Kendrick's recent injury has put some brakes on that. So, whatever is planned for him ronight, hopefully it'll help keep his momentum going. He's way too good to not.
