Jim Ross reverted back to fan-mail in a recent Q&A on the jrsbarbq blog, answering a question regarding the eerie similarity between the appearance of Shinsuke Nakamura and Carlos Santana.

On that note, Ross alluded that the aforementioned comparison between the WWE Superstar and the legendary musician is indeed valid. Here is a side-by-side photographic compilation, showing the glaring resemblance Nakamura and Santana bear to one another:

Shinsuke Nakamura has been the talk of the town ever since he transitioned from the Japanese professional wrestling circuit to the States in the WWE.

The former MMA fighter and highly regarded in-ring performer made his WWE main roster debut earlier this year, after wreaking havoc down in NXT; and was recently mocked by WWE Champion Jinder Mahal for his bevvy of unique facial expressions.

The heart of the matter

Speaking of which, Mahal mocked the Japanese Superstar’s facial expressions and referred to Nakamura as Mr Miyagi (an Asian movie character from ‘The Karate Kid’), much to the chagrin of the professional wrestling community, with several fans and pundits claiming the former’s promo to be racist.

That, in turn, has led to the vast majority of fans paying more attention than ever to Shinsuke’s physical appearance and demeanour as of late.

In reference to the same, veteran announcer Jim Ross himself responded to a fan’s question regarding Nakamura’s similarity with Carlos Santana; wherein good ol’ JR insinuated that they do look somewhat the same.

What’s next?

Shinsuke Nakamura came up short in his bid to defeat Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship at this past Sunday’s Hell In A Cell PPV.

Nevertheless, fans of the King of Strong Style can rest assured that the WWE will, in fact, continue to accord a huge push to the charismatic performer.

Author’s take

Thanks to JR, it’s only now that I truly realized how identical Nakamura and Santana look!

Regardless, the WWE Superstar is a legend in his own right, and although his loss to Jinder may be a tad disheartening to his legion of fans, I fully expect him to bounce back stronger.
