Cena asked for Bella's hand in marriage at WrestleMania 33 after the couple defeated The Miz and Maryse in a mixed tag team match. Even though several critics dismissed the incident and labelled it "cheesy", the engagement still received significant mainstream coverage from the entertainment media.

The WWE stalwarts have reportedly been together since November 2012, and their relationship is one of the focal points of Total Divas — a scripted reality show that airs on E!

On the day following the party, Cena expressed his adoration for his partner on Twitter.
Bella later echoed those sentiments and said that the night had been one to treasure.
Prior to the story from WWE.com, there was some confusion on social media as to whether the couple had married in secret.
What's next?
Cena and Bella haven't publicly announced a wedding date, but it is expected to be one of the focal points of Total Divas and Total Bellas. As for their immediate WWE futures, the Massachusetts native has confirmed his participation in the 2018 Royal Rumble, but there is no return date in sight for the Fearless One.

In 2018, it feels like WWE is more interested in promoting low-brow entertainment than actual professional wrestling. However, thanks to the rise of performers such as Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega, Kazuchika Okada and Tetsuya Naito, ardent fans of the "Sport of Kings" now have several alternatives that can satisfy their grappling needs.
